Citrine from the deposits in Zambia is a stone full of light and warmth. In the OCTA TERRA collection it gets a form that does not divide it: one whole stone, hand-cut into an octagon, with no fragments set in resin and no tensor hoop. The octagon is the spiritual eight – a sign of infinity, continuity and a flow that has no end.

Zambian citrine stands out with a golden-yellow shade – from honey yellow to amber reflections. Its name comes from the Latin citrus and speaks of the color, not of the origin of the stone. For thousands of years it has been regarded as the stone of the sun that attracts prosperity, success and the joy of life; in earlier cultures it was believed that its luminous energy protects against sadness and fills the heart with courage.

Our citrine is natural. Most citrine on the market is heat-treated amethyst – here the yellow is its own, brought up by the stone from the deposit.

The octagon lies between the square and the circle: the square is the four directions and the earth, the circle has no beginning and no end. That is why for centuries thresholds between the one and the other were built on the octagon – the Baptistery of St. John in Florence and the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem are octagonal. You wear that same threshold here on yourself.

The gold plating is sealed with Infinity 8 Protect – an additional layer applied by electroplating that slows wear in everyday use.
