Tensor earrings with tiger's eye – 925 sterling silver, platinum-plated
Lost Cubit in 925 sterling silver, platinum-plated: tensor ring, butterfly back and plate with ear post. In the centre a hand-cut tiger's eye from South Africa, a golden-brown quartz with a band of light that shifts with every movement.
Platinum holds a cool, silver tone and does not darken the way plain silver does. It is a plating, though, so with everyday wear it can rub through at the edges over time. Underneath there remains solid 925 sterling silver.

The effect of the moving band is chatoyancy: light reflects off parallel fibres inside the stone. They formed when quartz gradually replaced fibrous crocidolite, taking over its structure and oxidising the iron to a golden brown. The best material comes from the Northern Cape province.

The Lost Cubit is a tensor geometry tuned to 177 MHz. The ring closes in a form which, in the tensor tradition, is said to create its own field and to hold the owner's intention.
The sign of the ROYAL TERRA collection is the octagon, the figure eight, a shape of balance and flow. The platinum-plated version holds a cool, silver colour and does not need cleaning as often as unprotected silver.
